The first series of the animated series started in the distant 2011.

Storyline

Long ago, a wise fighter created the legendary Golden Weapon, which has an incredible supernatural power. The creator of such a valuable and unusual artifact of the Four Elements soon went to the other world, and everyone started to hunt his creation.

The viewer will meet small and charming little men who consider themselves real samurais. They preach an ancient philosophy, according to which the true strength and power is not only muscles, but also enlightened mind.

Kai, Jay, Cole, Zane, Lloyd and Nya are courageous and brave warriors who have been training for a long in martial arts with their mentor Sensei Wu. Now they face to a very important and difficult task, which is connected with the salvation of the country, and also with the search for that Golden Weapon. Powerful and armed enemies are trying to capture their peaceful territory, so the main characters will somehow have to start a fierce battle with them. Heroes will be guided by a sense of solidarity and all the time support each other in difficult situations, to defeat easily their opponents, the formidable and merciless Lord Garmadon, eager to obtain an ancient weapons relic.

Garmadon is a great good magician, lost in the darkness of his desires and greed. Once he wanted world domination over the world of Lego Ninjago encroached upon the peace in the country, he was punished for this and imprisoned in the underworld. Will our heroes stop this evil?
